Attack In Black
Marriage
5/5

Who It’s For: Seriously anyone
Sounds Like: A unique mix of indie rock, alt-country and punk

The Niagara Region has often been known for its blossoming musical talent but nothing has come out of the area like Welland's beloved Attack In Black. Attack In Black have evolved from the hard DIY punk sound that they started with and have transformed into an extremely talented and catchy folky punk rock and roll band.

Marriage is the debut album from Attack In Black that followed the addictive Widows EP. The album is full of passionate, honest and solid songs that you can't help but sing along to. This is especially true for their first single, “Young Leaves.”

“Come What May,” is the perfect song for setting the tone of the album that just gets better. It's obvious that this band is comprised of talented songwriters. The sound from song to song is very diverse. From the twangy countryish “Inches and Ages” to the slow tempo and gut wrenching vocals in “If All I Thought Were True” to the energetic and raw “Broken Things,” Attack In Black plow through with a confident and mature sound that few bands their age could achieve. Another notable song is “Northern Towns” which is easily placed on repeat.

This album is fantastic and deserves a listen from everyone because no matter what you are into, there is probably a little bit of it somewhere in there.
