The Old Soul

Who It’s For: People pissed about The New Pornographers going mellow.
Sounds Like: Not your average indie rock
The term infectious power-pop gets kicked around a lot in Canada and The Old Soul is the latest culprit. They are like a super ball of energy that bounces around the room needing downers or a tazer to make it stop. This album blows their previous effort away by not having any inhibitions about what they stand for and fully embraces the brashness of their songs.
You got your quirky pop songs like “Your Sister” and your jaunty tunes like “War On The Imposters” to fill your iPod to its brim with all the pop you can stand. After all, no skinny white dance machine will be able to resist.
I’m going to stick my neck out and say that I can see this album become an under the radar cult classic, one so unique that it will be remembered for years to come.
