Fasterman Raiderman
1/5

Founding member of the Pixies brings us two whole discs of the same sound from the first track to the last. Wouldn’t be a bad thing if I liked the music.

I had high hopes for this album, and I was disappointed in it after listening in many ways. The album seems like something you’d hear being played live in a small town bar on a Wednesday night for the most part. There’s no real definition to any of the tracks, the music is repetitive and this album certainly didn’t need two discs of the same damn thing over and over again, definitely a poor choice as if it was kept to a single disc with the “best” tracks selected I may not have cringed as much.

It’s a weird mix of blues and country that’s really sloppy, and quite honestly painful to listen to, as a blues fan, it was a hard thing to hear. The production wasn’t all that great, and it seemed like they went with the first take on every song.

Perhaps I’m missing the point of this album, but I tried damn hard to find one.
