Ryan Star
Songs From The Eye Of An Elephant
5/5

With the type of perfect timing only the music industry can pull off, Ryan Star’s debut album is getting a re-release in the US and Canada only weeks after Rock Star: Supernova announces their winner. Don’t shed a tear for Ryan for not winning though because a disc like this could not have been brought to your stereo with the likes of Gilby Clarke and Jason Newsted holding it down.

Star’s album is practically flawless. It’s got a contrast in beautiful and tainted filling every single song. The piano driven tracks could blow past unnoticed, but Star’s powerful voice breaks through any monotony and screams with intensity. These are not your average boy ballads.

Every song seems to get better then the last and with an astonishing 20 tracks that seems nearly impossible. In today’s ADD culture where everything has to be quick and albums rarely last an hour, Star’s album keeps on going and somehow never gets tiring. It takes a rare talent to hold your attention for that long with such a stripped down sound.

Ryan Star would have been a household name one way or another with an album like this, but reality television just bump-started that. Now it’s time to watch and see what he does next, because it’s only a matter of time.
